New Orleans

Our internet access will be very limited so we will focus on photos and do journal entrys whenever possible.

Gordon and I woke up at 6:45am, excited to start the trip.  I made smoothies for the kids and was carrying them upstairs when I tripped and threw smoothie all over the wall and split open my big toe!  Jamie helped me clean up the mess and Gordon bandaged my toe.  What a way to start things.  Then we finished loading the Excursion and the brand new batteries were dead.  Add to that, the transmission was acting funny as a result of the computer having completely lost power.  It took about 2 hours to get the batteries charged and the computer reset and the transmission functioning.  We decided that the little trailer we borrowed was draining the batteries.  Gordon did his magic and got it all working.   Gina

We left our house at 11:15am on July 1, 2012. We were running a little late due to some trouble with the car. About 4 hours later we had a flat tire on the trailer.  Good thing mom and dad had bought a spare tire the day before! We then drove to New Orleans, LA where we stayed at a Sheraton just outside of Downtown. Uncle Gregg got us fabulous deals on nice hotels for this trip.  Yeah Uncle Greggie!!! That night we had a fabulous meal and walked around Bourbon street. What a sight! Lots of music, lots of fun, lots of people!  - Jamie

(Jamie said she was scarred for life!  Joe said he wants to live there when he grows up! - Gina)
The elevator in our hotel had mirrors on all sides!

The second floor at the Sheraton in LA

Mom's awesome cup from Bourbon Street!

The interstate was right in the middle of all this beautiful LA swampland.
Our rig! Thank you Jerry for the awesome trailer!
